Alianza Black U11 won the Concorde Fire Challenge 2010 tournament this past month of February.
The Alianza team was playing the U11 Boys Gold tournament and they played the final against the NW YMCA Strikers Black. The final result was 2-1 in a very tied game. Alianza began losing in the first half. A brilliant play from one of the Strikers' player that dribbled three Alianza defenders and scored. Alianza had a couple of opportunities to score in the first half, but the goalie and some bad luck made it impossible to materialize them.
The second half was very tense. Alianza was feeling powerless and they couldn't make their best soccer. They were too nervous and feeling the pressure of the final. But finally Junior came to the rescue. He decided the fate of the game in a genius play. He got the ball in the middle field, run with confidence with the ball in his feet, dribbled two defenders and when he was close to the goalie, he slided and shot the ball inside the net. The Alianza's parents and crowd began to shout of happiness. Alianza was able to, at least, tie the game and have some margin to score another goal during the game. Then, Carlos came to finalize the score. He decided to create a individual play dribbling two defenders and shooting into the net, scoring the last goal of the game that gave the victory to Alianza's team.
It was a very tied game that finally was decided by two great individuality plays. Junior and Carlos were the heroes of the final.
Congratulations to Carlos Jacinto and all the players of the U11 team!!!
